Kiwi

I stayed twice in Kiwi Dive Resort and did around 20 dives with them. The diving on Siquijor is totally different from the more famous places, that are often overrun by tourists.
The place is small and peaceful, and you will probably be the only diver in the water. The Sanctuary dive is really something special, and we have seen turtles on every second dive, a big shoal of barracudas and once a very rare cuttlefish.
Another option is the wreck dive. The wreck is on 30 meters and from time to time you can still find porcelain on it and you can also see the fuel barrels. The front part of the boat is blown away because of mine explosion.
There are also several wall dives to the right side of the resort.
I like Siquijor because of the relaxed, unhurried diving, many unspoilt dive sites, and good service and safety.

Kiwi Dive Resort is really a special place that I keep wishing to go back to. During two long trips in the Philippines we ended up staying several times in Kiwi Dive Resort. Every time I went there I ended up staying longer than planned because it was so nice there. The place has a very unique, original and relaxed atmosphere. There are only very few tourists and most of the time you can have the beach to yourself. I have to say that the people at Kiwi Dive Resort are also great.
When drinking coffee in the morning while looking at the ocean the only difficult decision is whether to go scuba diving, snorkeling, be lazy on the beach, swim in the ocean or explore the rest of the island on motor cycle.
I especially recommend snorkeling or diving in the sanctuary.
Siquijor is really a beautiful and charming island with water falls, small villages, friendly people, deserted beaches, old
buildings...There is always something new to see.

I spent one month on the Island of Siquijor in May 99. First I stayed  on the southern part of the Island and did some diving with Cocogrove. After looking about decided to move to Kiwi Dive Resort for diving, and to spend the last three weeks of my holiday.

The staff were just great, real friendly and helpful, the girls took me to a local disco which was quite an experience. I found the food the best on the Island, and it was the quietest place I'd found in the Philippines.
Completed my advance course there as there were only two of us and was great to have personal tuition. The diving around kiwi is the best on
Siquijor. The equipment is all new, the safety and  dive preparation
excellent. For $20 a dive I found this the best value for money on my three months in the Philippines. I wish Bruce , Marithes and his delightful staff all the best with their
resort and hope to return next year.
